The Bamboo Hut

Over the summer I had a handful of short poems accepted for publishing in this journal.  I just received my copy yesterday.

From the journal’s introduction…

Tanshi means short poems. As used in this publication the word refers to poems that are between one and six lines in length.

Tanshi encompasses traditional, contemporary and experimental haiku, senryu, tanka, gogyoshi, sedoka, dodoitsu, ryuka, monostitch and any other variation that blurs across these lines.

The term Tanshi originated with the Japanese poet Tekkan Yosano, a Japanese author and poet active in late Meiji, Taishō, and early Shōwa period Japan.
