lines divide us,
with lines they
try to define us;

fifteen years
since the fall,
thousands died
yet i escaped;
shoulders heavy,
burden of guilt.
as the sun shines
the shadow remains;
dead leaves rattle,
windswept across
the cobblestones.

DISCOVERING DULUOZ is a collection of poetry based off several years worth of journals I wrote in the early 90’s. The poems cover the period where I was first exposed to the writings of Jack Kerouac as a teenager on a beach at Long Beach Island, and culminates with me hitchhiking (in true Kerouac fashion) from my home in New Jersey to his birthplace in Lowell, Massachusetts several years later.

Here’s what a few readers have said about the collection:

Discovering Duluoz is a collection of poems that yet, even imbued with melancholy, the pace and language of the poems create world’s that crackle with a vividness and imagery.
Though novels rather than Poetry are thought of as page-turners in the literary world, as I read these poems, I just wanted to keep going, slowly flipping the pages to see what would come next.
Truly a must have collection for poetry lovers.

Between the words and lines of each and every piece lied so much emotion. Beautiful words strung together in stanzas. As I spent my day flipping through the pages, I couldn’t put the book down. Each piece had me hooked from start to finish and a little sad at the very end as I knew it was over. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more from such a talented writer.
